What you're actually getting

Six mugs. Stoneware. Each holds 350ml, which is a decent amount of tea without being one of those novelty bucket mugs your nan buys at garden centres. The colourful glaze is the main selling point here, and if the listing photos are anything to go by, they do look genuinely cheerful on a shelf. Not fine china, not Instagram pottery. Just solid, everyday mugs that look like they belong in a kitchen that actually gets used.

Stoneware is a good call for daily use, to be fair. It holds heat better than your standard thin ceramic mug, and it's less fragile than bone china. My old housemate had a similar set and they survived two years of dishwasher cycles and one memorable incident involving a stone floor. Not unscathed, but still standing.

Who this is actually for

If you're moving into a new place, setting up a home office, or just fed up of mismatched mugs that look like they've had a hard life, this set makes real sense at this price. Six mugs for under £14 is hard to argue with.

That said, if you're someone who cares deeply about the weight of a mug in your hand, or you want something that feels considered and artisan, this probably isn't your thing. These are cheerful and practical, not precious.

One reservation: no previous price to compare against, so you're taking the value on face value. Community heat on HotUKDeals suggests people reckon it's decent, which counts for something. Personally I'd say it's a reasonable punt for a colourful, fuss-free everyday set.
