What you're actually getting
This is a wide-head levelling rake, 75cm across, with a handle that extends to 190cm. The idea is simple: you spread a thin layer of topdressing or sharp sand across your lawn, then drag this thing back and forth to work it into the low spots. Boring to describe, oddly meditative to do on a quiet Sunday morning.
The adjustable length is a proper nice touch. I'm fairly tall and the number of garden tools clearly designed for someone five foot nothing is genuinely baffling. Being able to dial in the handle length means you're not hunched over for an hour.
Who it's for
If you've got a patchy, uneven lawn and you've been meaning to sort it out for two summers now, this is the tool. Especially useful in spring or early autumn when you're overseeding and want a level base. It's also just a lot faster than using a flat rake or, worse, your feet.
Who it isn't for: anyone expecting a miracle. Levelling a lawn is a multi-session job. This rake helps, but you still need to put the time in.
Any reservations?
No previous price to compare against, so the £29.99 isn't obviously a bargain, it's just the current price. The community heat score is high (874 degrees on HotUKDeals), which usually means people are actually buying it rather than just clicking. That's a decent signal. Build quality looks solid from the listing, but I'd want a season of use before calling it bombproof.
