Does it actually work, though?
Honestly, Nivea Sun gets a bit overlooked because it's not some trendy Korean SPF or a fancy Factor 50 with a pastel tube. But this lotion has been a staple for a reason. The SPF 30 protection is solid for everyday use, the formula absorbs reasonably well, and it doesn't leave that horrible white cast you get with cheaper alternatives. Smells like sunscreen, full stop. If you were hoping for something more exotic, this isn't it.
I had a bottle rattling around in my bag last summer and used it before a long afternoon in the garden. No burn, no greasiness after an hour, no fuss. That's about as much as I ask from suncream, personally.
Who this is actually for
If you've got kids who go through lotion like water, or you want a reliable everyday SPF for commuting and sitting near windows, this is spot on. At this price point it's also a decent shout for keeping one in your desk drawer or gym bag.
It's probably not the one you'd reach for if you're fair-skinned and spending a full day at the beach. You'd want SPF 50 for that, mate. And the 200ml bottle goes faster than you'd think.
The honest bit
No discount is listed here, so the appeal is purely the low base price rather than a dramatic markdown. Still, for under four quid for a proper branded SPF, it's not half bad. Community heat on HotUKDeals is high, stock tends to disappear on these Prime Day runs, so if you need it, don't sit on it.
