Generic trimmers snag, pull, and leave you regretting the whole endeavour. Philips designed the BG3480 with rounded tips and a skin-protect guard system precisely to avoid that particular nightmare. It's cordless, waterproof, and handles both trimming and shaving depending on what attachment you're using.
I had a mate try a cheap supermarket body trimmer once. He described it as "like hedge clippers on a bad day." He switched to a Philips shortly after. Said it felt almost boring by comparison, and boring is exactly what you want in this context.
Where It Actually Delivers

One Honest Reservation
If you've got very coarse or dense hair, the 3000 series does occasionally struggle on the first pass. You might need a second go. The higher-end Philips models handle that better, but they cost noticeably more. For most people though, this is spot on.
Not for everyone. But if you've been putting up with a substandard trimmer or doing nothing at all, this is a proper upgrade.
