What you actually get in the box
Nine Scarlet & Violet booster packs, one full art promo card, and a solid set of accessories: dice, damage counters, card sleeves, the lot. On paper it's the standard Elite Trainer Box setup, and honestly, the accessories alone are decent quality. The sleeves are thick enough to be usable rather than something you shove in a drawer.
The Prismatic Evolutions set itself is the real talking point. It's heavily Eevee-focused, which sounds niche but has absolutely sent the collector community into a spin. Eeveelution fans are not casual people, mate. The pull rates on the special illustration rares are what everyone's chasing, and nine packs gives you a fair shot without breaking the bank compared to buying boosters individually.
Who this is actually for
If you're buying this to play competitively, it's probably not the smartest route. You'd be better off buying singles for your deck. But if you're a collector, or you've got a kid who goes absolutely feral for unboxing Pokémon cards on a Saturday morning, this hits the spot properly.
Personally, I'd say the sweet spot is gifting. It looks impressive, it has that premium feel without the absurd price of booster bundles, and the promo card gives it something a bit special.
One honest reservation: stock on these ETBs has been patchy across retail. The "invite only" label on Amazon suggests availability is limited, so if you're keen, don't sit on it too long. Community heat of nearly 1,400 degrees on HotUKDeals isn't nothing.
