What You're Actually Getting
Prestone is a name that gets thrown around a lot in the car care aisle, and honestly, not without reason. This is a super concentrated formula, meaning you dilute it yourself rather than buying a ready-mixed bottle. A 2.5 litre jug goes a fair bit further than the usual off-the-shelf stuff. That matters if you actually do any winter driving, which, living in Britain, you do.
The cleaning performance is solid. No smearing, clears bugs and road film without much fuss, and it handles light frost reasonably well when mixed at the stronger end of the dilution range. Not a deicer replacement, but it won't freeze up your jets on a cold morning if you've mixed it properly.
Who This Is For (And Who It Isn't)
If you're the sort who tops up the screen wash once and forgets about it until the warning light comes on, this is spot on. Economical, effective, does the job without any faff.
If you park outside and regularly deal with heavy frost, you might want to pair this with a proper deicer rather than relying on screen wash alone. And if you drive something with a very fine jet nozzle, give the dilution instructions a proper read. Concentrated formulas occasionally cause blockages if you go too strong.
Personally, I grabbed a couple of these last winter and worked through both bottles without any complaints. The windscreen stayed clear, the jets never blocked, and it smells less aggressively chemical than some rivals.
At this price, with the community discount at checkout, it's genuinely hard to argue against keeping a spare in the garage.
