What you're actually buying

This is a 1.5kg tub of interior wall and ceiling filler from Toupret, a French brand that's quietly become a go-to for decorators who actually know their stuff. The quick-dry formula is the whole point here. You're not waiting hours between coats, which if you've ever painted a rental flat on a Sunday evening before work Monday, matters more than any other feature on the tin.

The consistency is spot on out of the tub. Not too stiff, not runny. It goes on smoothly with a filling knife, sands back without crumbling into dust, and takes paint without bleeding through. That last bit is underrated, honestly. Cheap fillers can leave a dull patch even under two coats of emulsion.

Who it's for (and who it isn't)

This is a small-job filler. Nail holes, hairline cracks, minor dings in plaster. If you've got a section of wall that needs rebuilding, this isn't the product. But for the kind of repairs most people have knocking about the house, it does the job properly.

Personally I'd say it's ideal for renters doing a bit of pre-checkout tidying, or homeowners who want a clean finish before decorating. Not for structural work, not for exterior use.

One honest reservation

The tub is 1.5kg, which sounds like plenty but goes quicker than you'd expect if you're doing a full room of small repairs. You might want two tubs if the job's bigger than a handful of patches. At this price though, not a dealbreaker.
