Still the go-to gift chocolate, let's be honest
There's something a bit ridiculous about reviewing Ferrero Rocher. Everyone knows what they taste like. That wafer shell, the whole hazelnut inside, the milk chocolate coating rolled in chopped hazelnuts, the gold foil you inevitably get on your fingers. It hasn't changed. That's sort of the point.
Personally, I find them a touch sweet after two or three. But that's not who this box is for. This is the box you bring to your colleague's leaving do, or leave on the table at Christmas so your auntie can quietly have four while pretending she's only had one. The 24-count is the right size for that: generous enough to feel like a proper gift, not so massive it becomes wasteful if half of them get ignored.
Who should actually buy this
If you're gifting, this ticks the box (pun intended). Recognisable brand, attractive packaging, no dietary surprises. At this price, it undercuts most supermarkets fairly comfortably, which makes it a reasonable shout for bulk occasion gifting.
That said, if you're buying these for yourself to eat solo on the sofa, maybe reconsider. Not because there's anything wrong with that, but because after about four you'll want something less cloying. They're a sharing thing.
One honest reservation: the plastic pyramid box looks impressive but is mostly air. You're getting 300g of chocolate, which is fine, but don't expect it to feel heavy when it arrives.
For a gift that looks considered without requiring any actual thought, this does the job properly.
