What you're actually getting
Lego Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight leans hard into the classic DC lore, cramming in characters from across the Batman universe. The co-op couch mode is the main reason to care, honestly. Sitting on the sofa with a kid who refuses to stop playing as Robin while you're trying to solve a puzzle? Spot on. That's the whole pitch, and it mostly delivers.
The humour is the usual Lego fare, which means it's gentle, visual, and won't annoy you after the third hour the way some games do. The PS5 version looks crisp enough, and the DualSense haptics add a small but satisfying bit of crunch to the combat.
Who it's for (and who it isn't)
This is a family game, full stop. If you're a solo adult gamer looking for depth or challenge, this isn't your thing. But if you've got a Batman-obsessed 7-year-old or you want something you can both genuinely play together without one person being bored stiff, it earns its place.
My honest reservation: at £40.99 with no listed discount, it's not a screaming bargain. The Lego games do crop up cheaper pretty regularly, so if you're not in a rush, waiting a few weeks might save you a fiver or so.
The bottom line
Not half bad for a co-op family game with a decent amount of content. The community heat on this suggests stock is moving, which at least tells you people are buying it.
