The bit that actually matters: the lid

Most tumblers live or die by their lid. Stanley clearly knows this. The flip straw mechanism here is satisfying to use, one thumb, no fiddling, no unscrewing anything while you're driving or mid-run. The straw flips up, you drink, it clicks back down. That's it. Sounds obvious, but you'd be amazed how many brands get this wrong.

I had a mate who swapped from a cheaper branded tumbler to one of these and said the first thing she noticed was not dripping on herself for an entire week. Small win, but a real one.

Who this is actually for

If you work at a desk, do morning walks, or spend time at the gym, this fits naturally into that routine. The white colourway looks smart enough that it won't look out of place in an office meeting. Ice retention is proper solid, cold drinks stay cold for hours, which is the whole point for a tumbler like this.

That said, if you're after something for hot drinks, this isn't it. The flip straw design isn't built for steaming coffee. Go elsewhere for that.

The honest reservation

At £27 with no discount, it's full price. No getting around that. Stanley products do hold their value and tend to last years rather than months, but if you're on a budget, it stings a bit. Worth watching for a deal before committing. The community heat on HotUKDeals suggests people think it's worth it at this price, and personally I wouldn't argue too hard with them.
